About the Downtown Danville Partnership

The Downtown Danville Partnership is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop, promote, and sustain Danville's historic courthouse square as "Hendricks County's Downtown;" the county's gathering place and its retail, civic, entertainment, and government center.

The Partnership works to make downtown enhancement a priority for the community, harnessing the strengths and talents of relevant organizations and individuals and promoting collaboration and enthusiasm among all sectors who work on and in downtown.

The Partnership seeks to:

Benefit Danville's courthouse square and nearby businesses as well as Danville's general business economy;
Offer an attractive quality of lie for residents; and
Enrich the experience of visitors.

The Partnership works to accomplish its goals by:

Refining downtown's physical appeal through historic preservation and beautification
Creating an inviting setting by attracting appropriate businesses and entertainment options
Working with events that will attract community and visitor participation downtown
Developing and promoting an appealing image of Danville that is recognized in Central Indiana, and
Providing marketing support for both the initiative and the downtown business district.

Programs

The Partnership has many exciting initiatives planned. On the agenda are:

A way-finding signage system to help residents and visitors locate businesses and amenities
Better solutions for downtown parking challenges
Supporting a plan to keep the Courthouse on the square
Marketing Danville as a destination location
With the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce, recruiting businesses that residents and visitors want on the squre

Events

The Partnership produces some of Danville's most exciting events, including the unique Geranium Festival, Summer Sounds on the Square, the tradition-making Christmas on the Square, and the Fall Scarecrow Contest.
